Comprehensive Pain Management

Awarded Pain Program Accreditation by the
American Academy of Pain Management—the Nation’s Largest
Interdisciplinary Professional Pain Organization

BATON ROUGE, LA 12/21/09.  Comprehensive Pain Management has been awarded Pain Program Accreditation by the American Academy of Pain Management, the nation’s largest interdisciplinary pain management organization that serves clinicians through education and advocacy. As part of the accreditation process, Comprehensive Pain Management underwent a rigorous process in which Academy surveyors evaluated the facility based on criteria such as its commitment to quality care, concern for patients, and the use of outcomes measurement to continuously improve quality of care.

According to surveyor, Dr. Lawrence Short, "The Academy has awarded Comprehensive Pain Management a three-year accreditation as an Outpatient Small Multidisciplinary pain management program. The program demonstrates excellent outcomes, largely because of excellent clinical and administrative leadership, dedicated staff, and an emphasis on results oriented treatment modalities. This is the only Academy accredited pain program in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama."

"The accreditation by AAPN has allowed our practice to showcase the excellent quality of patient care by our medical providers and staff members. The standards gave structure and direction to assist our Center in reaching best practice goals." Sybil Cotten MSN, Administrator
